Course Information
By the end of the module; you will be able to learn about the visual pathway; the role of the various structures of the eye in light transmission and adaptability in this process; the structure of the retina and how the incipient light is converted by retina into electrical signals; the spatial distribution of the image on the retina; the retinotopic map and how it is maintained throughout the visual pathway; the functional organization of the cerebral cortex as pertaining to the visual system; the three major pathways for the three major components of vision viz. colour form and motion and effect of damage at various locations in the visual pathway.
